99B Webster Road
The proposal is located in Liverpool .We propose to convert the existing warehouse into a single two-storey dwelling, with the living accommodation on the ground, and the sleeping accommodation on the second floor. We have incorporated a balcony that looks into the yard, and extended the ground floor by the length of the balcony. We propose a brick wall around the yard area that decreases & increases in height, this provides privacy (by stopping view lines in and out of the site), security and allows for natural light to come in. This also provides a bookend effect to the over all composition of the site.
Bathing Beauties Competition
The design for this entry was based on a simple language reflecting sea-side architecture; colour and stripes. Aimed to create a new geometry using this language the result was 17 frames that decrease in size, with the biggest facing the sea and each painted a different colour. These 17 frames composed a cuboid shape. We intentionally created an open space at the front of the hut with an integrated bench for the public/tourists to enjoy in the times when the owners are not in “residence”. The design of the bench follows the contours and frame colours to enhance the language used throughout. There is an internal space that can be accessed through the front or back and accommodates a sink and sufficient space for further furniture and storage.
